Mr. Garvin attended the University of Miami from 1974 through 1978 where he received a Bachelor in Business Administration degree. His major was accounting. Mr. Garvin worked as an accountant until 1980 when he went to law school at the University of Miami. Mr. Garvin graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 1982 with a Juris Doctor degree and received a LLM (Masters in Law) in taxation in 1987.
Mr. Garvin has obtained and received recognition during his scholastic and professional career. During law school Mr. Garvin was named to the Dean’s List in 1980, 1981, and 1982 (all years) for his scholastic achievement and graduated Cum Laude. As a practicing attorney Mr. Garvin has been recognized by his peers as an outstanding lawyer. He is listed in Martindale Hubbell with an AV rating (highest rating) and has been consistently included in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers each year since 1999 in both the Criminal Law Attorney-Lawyer section and Tax Attorney-Tax Lawyer section.
